The Greenland Telemuseum opened on 20 May 2004 in the old radiotelegraph station in Qaqortoq. It is a historical museum, which aims to present the main thrust of telecommunications development in the country. The station is the only one left today of the first four radiotelegraph stations, inaugurated in 1925. From the beginning, it served as the main station, and all the telegraph traffic out of and into the country (except for Tasiilaq) passed through this station in the early years.
